The Role: This is a double-hatted role: you lead a brand category across the region, and you are the local market lead where you're based. As Category Lead, you drive priorities and delivery standards for your category everywhere it operates, working with your counterparts in the other markets to keep quality and approach consistent. As Local Market Lead, you own the day-to-day client relationship in your market. You're the person the client calls, the one accountable for what gets delivered, and the person expected to know that market's language, platforms, and regulatory landscape well enough to catch problems before the client has to. PMs report directly to you.
What You'll Own
Category expertise
- Drive priorities and delivery standards for your category across every market it touches, not just your own
Build category-specific knowledge that outlasts any single campaign
Mirror the category-cluster model our media partner already runs, so category strategy and media planning move together, not separately
Quality and brand integrity
- Review global and regional toolkits and judge, realistically, what can be adapted and how given local platform and regulatory requirements
- Hold the line on brand compliance and quality even under deadline pressure
Local market ownership
Serve as the single point of contact for adaptation and delivery in your market, brief through delivery
- Own the local partnership and act as gatekeeper for commercial terms specific to your market
- Ensure governance cadence is followed, e.g. weekly delivery syncs, monthly reviews, escalating on schedule rather than only when something breaks
Identify and resolve local delivery challenges before they become client-facing issues
Alignment with Media
- Make sure adaptation work is aligned to Media's confirmed plan, not created independently and forced into it afterward
Embed local platform and cultural knowledge into what gets adapted and how
- Flag early where a market's platform requirements or regulatory constraints affect what's realistically deliverable
Team leadership
Lead your PMs directly and manage workload, quality, and growth
- Set a standard the team wants to meet, not just comply with
Flex team capacity as volume and campaign complexity shift versus running a fixed structure regardless of demand
Commercial and operational rigor
- Own volume and budget scoping for your market - translating expected campaign volume into resourcing needs, and contributing meaningfully to forecasting and budgeting conversations
- Track performance against agreed KPIs, adjusting resourcing or approach as real demand data comes in
- Apply financial compliance procedures correctly as a matter of course
Escalation and judgement
- Act as the escalation point for your market - resolving what can be resolved locally, and knowing precisely what needs to go to the Regional Lead instead of guessing
- Bring recommended solutions to escalations, not just the problem
What You'll Need
- 6+ years in account or category leadership within content production or adaptation, ideally agency-side
Genuine fluency in your local market: language, culture, and regulatory nuance
- Beauty or prestige category experience
- Experience managing AMs/PMs or junior team members directly, not just contributing individually
- Experience partnering closely with a media agency to deliver genuinely integrated outcomes
- Strong commercial acumen, i.e. comfortable with cost estimates, budgets, and contractual terms
- Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills, exercised under real time pressure
