Xceptor is a London financial software company founded in 2003 that automates data-heavy processes in capital markets. Its no-code platform ingests documents and feeds, then transforms and validates the data for reconciliation, tax and reporting workflows. The company works with banks, custodians and asset servicers worldwide.

ABOUT XCEPTOR

Data is at the heart of everything we do: Xceptor has been designed around data manipulation in its broadest sense. We source data from wherever it flows. We curate, normalise, validate, repair, and enrich that data so it reaches its destination in a reliable and consistent format. Data coming out of Xceptor is data our clients can trust.

We are recognised as an expert in the Financial Services vertical, which strongly aligns with Business Users in Middle and Back-Office teams. We enable these users to solve their data challenges by themselves, rather than through a technology-led project.

Our mission -  we empower business users within financial institutions to build automated processes that deliver trusted data.

Our values sit at the heart of our business, driving who we are and how we work. At Xceptor, we are:

  • Client Centric; we prioritise our Clients’ experience and needs.

  • One Team; we actively support one another to achieve our goals.

  • Impactful; we focus, we innovate, we make every minute matter.

The role will work closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Customer teams to build scalable workflow and rules-based capabilities that support the company's growth.

The successful candidate will take a product-led approach to internal platform capabilities, treating workflow and rules engines as products with clear users, measurable outcomes, and a strategic roadmap.

  • Deliver roadmap initiatives aligned to the Platform strategy and organisational priorities.
  • Design user research testing (product usability), working with research and product to translate insights into product features and functionality.
  • Translate business, operational, and regulatory requirements into clear product requirements and user stories.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle, from discovery through to delivery and optimisation.
  • Prioritise work based on business value, customer needs, technical dependencies, and operational impact.
  • Support release planning, testing, implementation, and adoption activities.

Workflow & Rules Management

  • Manage platform capabilities relating to workflow orchestration, business rules, automation, and decisioning.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Support the development of configurable workflows and rules that can be reused across multiple business functions.
  • Ensure workflow and decisioning capabilities are scalable, efficient, and aligned to business requirements.
  • Monitor and continuously improve workflow performance and effectiveness.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineering, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Customer teams to understand requirements and pain points.
  • Facilitate discussions and workshops to gather requirements and define solutions.
  • Communicate priorities, progress, dependencies, and risks to stakeholders.
  • Build strong working relationships across the organisation to drive successful delivery.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes through automation and workflow optimisation.
  • Support initiatives that enhance efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Work closely with operational teams to understand current-state processes and future-state requirements.
  • Help establish best practices for workflow and business rules management.

Performance & Insights

  • Define and monitor product metrics relating to workflow efficiency, automation adoption, processing times, and user satisfaction.
  • Analyse usage and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to inform backlog priorities and future enhancements.
  • Support continuous improvement of the platform through data-driven decision making.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure workflow and rules capabilities meet governance, audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with Risk and Compliance teams to ensure controls are appropriately embedded within automated processes.
  • Maintain clear documentation of workflows, business rules, and decision logic.
  • Support operational resilience and risk management initiatives.

Who we're looking for:

  • Experience as a Technical Product Manager, or similar role.
  • Experience working in a fintech, financial services, capital markets, or other regulated

  • Experience delivering workflow, automation, business process, or platform-related products.
  • Strong understanding of product management principles and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment.

  • Can read and understand code and enjoys engaging with technical concepts.
  • Has a strong builder mindset and is passionate about creating products that enable others to succeed.
  • Is naturally curious and constantly learning about new technologies, tools, and approaches.
  • Balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Demonstrates strong ownership and accountability for outcomes.
  • Challenges assumptions and seeks innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Communicates clearly, openly, and effectively across technical and business audiences.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, ambitious, and collaborative environment.
