Key Responsibilities
1.Tier 1 Supplier Relationship Ownership
- Act as governance owner for the assigned Tier 1 supplier relationship in China, ensuring consistent cadence, documented commitments, and clear accountability.
- Translate Xerox business priorities into supplier governance requirements, meeting agendas, action plans, executive review content, and measurable deliverables.
- Build productive relationships with supplier executives, commercial teams, operations, quality, engineering, and program management.
- Manage supplier governance, including operating reviews, business reviews, scorecards, escalation forums, decision logs, and action trackers.
- Maintain scorecards covering commitments, trends, root causes, corrective actions, owners, timing, and closure status across key performance areas.
- Drive governance discipline by ensuring corrective actions are fact-based, assigned to accountable owners, tracked to due dates, reviewed in the appropriate forum, and escalated when commitments are missed.
3.Commercial Negotiation and Cost Management
- Lead commercial negotiations related to pricing, cost reduction, cost avoidance, payment terms, claims, capacity, engineering changes, and business escalations.
- Use cost breakdowns, benchmarking, market data, supplier financial inputs, and should-cost analysis to support negotiations.
- Partner with finance and business stakeholders to quantify savings, cost risk, and business case impacts.
4.RFQ and Sourcing Execution
- Lead cross-functional RFQ activity, including requirements collection, supplier communication, quotation analysis, negotiation, and award recommendation.
- Analyze RFQ results using total cost, capability, quality, delivery, compliance, risk, and strategic fit criteria.
- Influence stakeholders to align on sourcing direction, supplier selection, and implementation plans.
5.Risk, Compliance and Contract Governance
- Identify, assess, and mitigate supplier risks, including capacity, quality, delivery, geopolitical, regulatory, export control, sanctions, financial, cybersecurity, sustainability, and business continuity risks.
- Ensure supplier activity follows company policy, sourcing governance, contract terms, ethical sourcing standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Manage contract governance for pricing frameworks, amendments, claims, obligations, approvals, issue logs, and escalation paths.
6.Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management
- Partner with engineering, operations, quality, planning, logistics, finance, legal, compliance, product, and regional sourcing teams.
- Communicate clearly across cultures, time zones, and organizational levels to drive alignment and timely decisions.
- Maintain strong execution discipline with clear ownership, due dates, follow-up, and measurable outcomes.
7.Data, Digital Tools and Continuous Improvement
- Use data analytics, dashboards, AI-enabled tools, supplier scorecards, and market intelligence to improve cost modeling, supplier performance tracking, risk identification, and decision quality.
8.NPI, Transitions and Business Transformation Support
- Support new product introduction, supplier transitions, localization opportunities, alternate sourcing, portfolio changes, and cost management initiatives through strong program coordination.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in supply chain, business, engineering, finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in global sourcing, supplier relationship management, procurement, commodity management, contract manufacturing, or manufacturing supply chain.
- Direct experience working with Tier 1 suppliers, preferably in China or Asia-based manufacturing environments.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills, including pricing, cost reduction, claims, contract support, and executive-level supplier discussions.
- Experience managing supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards, business reviews, corrective actions, and governance routines.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers, BOM cost elements, RFQ processes, supplier cost breakdowns, and total cost decision-making.
- Proven ability to operate in a global matrix organization and influence stakeholders across cultures, functions, and regions.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required for collaboration with international teams; Chinese language skills may be helpful for local supplier engagement depending on business needs.
- Experience using Excel, dashboards, procurement systems, market data, and digital or AI-enabled tools to support analysis and execution.
- High standard of integrity, confidentiality, compliance discipline, and business code of conduct performance.
