Sourcing Engineer

We are seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented Sourcing Engineer to support our engineering and sourcing teams in evaluating manufacturing projects and connecting customer requirements with the right manufacturing capabilities. In this role, you will assess the technical complexity of parts and components, support quotation accuracy, and collaborate with clients, providers, and internal teams to resolve technical questions and ensure successful project execution.

How You’ll Contribute:

• Technical Evaluation & Sourcing:

  • Assess the technical complexity of parts and components to support accurate sourcing and manufacturing evaluations

  • Review technical requirements, drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to identify key manufacturing considerations

  • Support the sourcing team in identifying suitable manufacturing capabilities and providers for complex parts and projects

  • Assign and maintain appropriate technical tags to ensure accurate categorization of parts and manufacturing requirements

• Quotation & Project Support:

  • Review technical content within quotations for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with customer requirements

  • Identify potential technical issues or gaps and work with relevant teams to resolve them

  • Support complex projects and critical deals by providing technical input and manufacturing expertise

• Client & Provider Communication:

  • Participate in meetings with clients and manufacturing providers to clarify technical requirements and resolve technical challenges

  • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Help ensure alignment between customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and sourcing solutions

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineering, sourcing, sales, and other internal teams to support successful project execution

  • Share technical knowledge and best practices with colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing processes

  • Support junior team members by providing technical guidance and knowledge when needed

What You’ll Bring to Xometry:

• Education: Higher technical education, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field

• Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment involving complex products, parts, or components

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, technical drawings, part specifications, and component complexity

• Sourcing Experience: Experience working with suppliers, manufacturers, sourcing teams, engineering teams, or technical procurement is preferred

• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to discuss technical requirements with clients, providers, and internal stakeholders

• English: B1-B2 level English proficiency

• Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve technical challenges

• Organization: Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, sourcing, sales, and operations teams

• Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure, manage changing priorities, and maintain attention to detail
