Software Quality Engineer - (Public Sector)

Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Quality Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our applications across multiple projects. This role involves planning and executing tests, identifying defects, driving continuous improvement in testing processes, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for web and mobile applications.
• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Appium, Espresso, and Selenium.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, API, and performance testing.
• Conduct API testing using Postman and validate service integrations.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, business analysts, developers, and DevOps teams to ensure high software quality throughout the SDLC.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using Jira, and maintain test documentation in Confluence.
• Support continuous integration and continuous testing initiatives within Agile delivery teams.
• Monitor application performance using StackOps and analyze performance issues to ensure system reliability.
• Validate applications deployed in GCC AWS environments and ensure compliance with cloud testing best practices.
• Ensure all testing activities comply with IM8 security and governance requirements.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, release planning, and project status meetings.
• Prepare test reports, quality metrics, and recommendations for stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Testing.
• Proven experience in test planning, test management, and end-to-end software quality assurance.
• Strong experience in mobile and web application testing.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools including:
• Appium
• Espresso
• Selenium
• Experience performing API testing using Postman.
• Strong experience in regression testing and performance testing.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for defect tracking and test documentation.
• Familiarity with GCC AWS cloud environments and cloud-based application testing.
• Experience using StackOps or similar application performance monitoring (APM) tools.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of IM8 compliance requirements and secure software testing practices is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
