On behalf of our client, a confidential, fast-growing technology company building advanced AI-powered consumer entertainment products, we are looking for an experienced AI Video R&D Specialist / AI Cinematic Video Editor.
Our client operates at the intersection of generative AI, interactive digital experiences, visual storytelling and scalable content production. The company has a strong Research & Development culture and is investing heavily in next-generation AI video workflows. This role sits directly within the R&D team and is designed for someone who combines technical curiosity, generative AI fluency, cinematic taste and full production ownership.
This is not a standard video editing role. You will not simply cut existing footage. You will research new AI video models, design and improve generative workflows, build repeatable production pipelines, create cinematic AI-generated sequences and take ownership of final delivery. You will have high autonomy in technical decisions, tool selection, workflow experimentation and creative execution.
Important Project Context
The company builds AI-driven consumer entertainment products for adult audiences. Some projects may involve mature 18+ narrative content and less restricted generative workflows.
For this reason, full professional comfort with mature-content production is required. This is treated strictly as a professional creative and technical production context.
The Role
As an AI Video R&D Specialist / AI Cinematic Video Editor, you will own the full AI video production process, from concept and research to prompting, generation, workflow building, editing, compositing and final delivery.
You will work in an experimentation-driven environment where the team constantly tests new models, improves pipelines, shares learnings and iterates quickly. The ideal person is comfortable with ambiguity, enjoys technical problem-solving and has the creative judgment to turn AI-generated assets into polished cinematic output.
What You Will Do
AI Video R&D & Workflow Engineering
Research and test the latest AI video models, tools, extensions and production methods.
Build, improve and maintain advanced generative workflows, especially in ComfyUI.
Use AI tools for character consistency, scene continuity, style control, B-roll generation, upscaling, inpainting and post-processing.
Experiment with new pipelines and share practical learnings with the team.
Help define scalable production methods for high-volume AI video creation.
Compare outputs across different models and tools to identify the best workflow for each creative use case.
Cinematic Storytelling & Visual Craft
Create narrative-driven AI-generated video content from concept to final version.
Build visually coherent sequences with strong pacing, composition, atmosphere and emotional tone.
Maintain character, style and scene consistency across longer generative sequences.
Translate creative briefs into cinematic outputs using AI-first workflows.
Improve rough AI generations through editing, compositing, colour and final polish.
Bring a strong visual eye and storytelling instinct to every production.
Post-Production & Final Delivery
Work independently across the full post-production stack.
Handle editing, compositing, colour correction, motion graphics and final export.
Manage render queues, files, iterations and project structure efficiently.
Deliver polished, production-ready assets without requiring another specialist to finish the work.
Maintain a high quality bar while working in a fast-moving, test-and-iterate environment.
Collaboration & Ownership
Take ideas from early concept to finished delivery with high autonomy.
Work closely with creative and R&D teams to improve quality, speed and repeatability.
Communicate clearly, document learnings and contribute to internal workflow standards.
Stay flexible, test quickly and let go of ideas when the output is not strong enough.
Actively contribute to the evolution of the team's AI video production pipeline.
Must-Have Requirements
4+ years of experience in video production, VFX, motion design, technical art, digital art, post-production or similar creative/technical environments.
Proven hands-on experience with AI-generated video workflows.
Strong experience with ComfyUI, including building or modifying node-based workflows.
Active professional use of generative AI tools such as Stable Diffusion, Runway, Kling, Pika, Seedance, Happy Horse or similar emerging tools.
Portfolio including AI-driven video work. Traditional-only cinematic portfolios will not be enough for this role.
Strong post-production skills in Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve or equivalent tools.
Ability to work independently from concept to final delivery.
Strong visual taste, cinematic thinking and attention to detail.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Full professional comfort working with mature 18+ content in a legal production environment.
