Yonder is a London company founded in 2021 that issues a credit card built around experiences rather than cashback. It underwrites newcomers to Britain using open banking data instead of a domestic credit file. Rewards are curated with independent restaurants and venues in the cities where its members live.

What’s Yonder?

"It's as if Time Out, Amex and Monzo had a baby" - Will T, Yonder Member

We're building the financial membership of the future. One that works for how you live now. Not how your parents banked in the '90s.

Yonder combines credit and debit in one membership, designed to be fair, flexible, and actually enjoyable to use. No confusing terms. No dusty points system. Just rewards that actually feel rewarding - from bao to beer to a boarding pass.

We raised £23.4M in September 2024 to grow the team, launch even better rewards, and expand beyond the UK. If that sounds good to you, you'll probably like it here.

Sounds cool. So what’s my part in this?

Over the last year we've added a debit card, updated membership tiers, hundreds of new independent partners around the country, countless product and risk improvements. We've maintained a 4.6 TrustPilot rating and our customers really love us (and we love them back... hi!).

Product at Yonder is organised around the numbers we need to move: new members and activation, membership revenue, spend per member, risk and how rewarding our products are. This role owns the first of those. You'll lead how people find Yonder, sign up, and reach their first rewarding moment, in the UK and in the markets we open next.

The funnel is yours from the first visit to yonder.com all the way into the app: landing pages, sign-up, identity checks, the credit decision, choosing a plan, activating the card and making a first purchase. Marketing owns the channels that bring people to the door: paid, brand, and our partnerships with comparison sites etc. You own what happens after the click, and the two of you share the homepage and landing pages as one surface with one conversion number.

Three numbers will be yours: visitor-to-approved-member conversion, time from first visit to first transaction, and the share of new members active in their first 30 days. You'll set the targets, report on them monthly, and own the result.

You'll report to Karam, our VP Product, and work alongside your design & engineering team as well as PMs & marketers to get the job done.

You're a great fit if you

  • You've owned a consumer funnel and moved its numbers. You can walk us through a sign-up, onboarding or activation problem you diagnosed, what you changed, and what happened to conversion or time to value, with the numbers.

  • You talk to members and near-misses every month. people who dropped out, people we declined, people who joined. These conversations sharpen your instinct.

  • You run experiments as a habit and get your own answers from data. Hypothesis, metric, threshold, read the result, kill it or scale it, and you know when something isn't worth testing at all. You run analysis without waiting for an analyst. Funnels, cohorts and segments are how you think, because averages hide the real problems.

  • You build the tests yourself. You're not afraid to dive into Webflow to spin up a landing page, use Figma to design the UI and Claude Code to get changes into production and do the analysis. Most of the funnel tests here get built and instrumented this way. You and your team define the ambitious bets, engineering takes those, you take the rest.

  • You've worked at the seam between product and marketing. Landing pages, offers, attribution, the handoff from campaign to product. You've argued with a performance marketer about what a page should say and you both came out better for it. Here you'll share the homepage and landing pages with them, agree the offer and message a new visitor sees, make sure the story in the ad matches the story in the app, and build the attribution and server-side tracking that lets both teams learn.

  • You've launched or localised a product in a new market, or built the systems that made a launch possible: identity checks, currency, payment methods, language, local partners. That's the second half of this job: decide what has to be market-specific and what stays global, and build it so the second market costs a fraction of the first.

  • You can grow inside the guardrails of a regulated lender. You'll work with Risk on acceptance quality and fraud, and with Compliance and Legal on what the funnel can say and do. Growth here means members who get approved, activate and stay, acquired at a cost we can sustain. In a funnel the small details are the whole job, so mention #Jackfruit in your application and we'll know you sweat them.

Bonus

  • You've worked in fintech or on regulated products, especially onboarding, identity verification or credit decisioning

  • You've worked in early-stage or fast-growing teams, or founded something

What’s the application process like?

We take the candidate experience really seriously, so we’ve made the process as transparent as possible. We also promise to be super responsive, and will never leave you wondering where you stand for weeks on end.

Here’s how it works:

  • Stage 1: Hiring manager call (30-45 mins): We'll have an initial remote call to find out more about you and to tell you more about us

  • Stage 2: Experience interview (60 mins): We'll deep dive into your analytical and technical experience, talk about projects you've worked on

  • Stage 3: Problem solving interview (60 mins): We’ll pair on a problem together with a whiteboard to see how you think about solving them with other team members

  • Stage 4: Values interview (60 mins): We want to learn more about how you work - we’ll ask you questions related to our principles (Our DNA). This stage will be with two people from our wider team

  • Stage 5: We always complete reference checks at this stage - ideally with a previous manager and a peer over the phone

  • Stage 6: Offer If everyone’s happy, we’ll make you an offer to join us - YAY! We hope to always give you a decision between each stage within 24 hours (where possible).

Other things to know:

  • We must complete right to work & criminal, politically exposed persons, and default to credit notice background checks for every new Yonder-er for compliance purposes because we handle sensitive customer data.

  • We like to move quickly at Yonder, so we will be ready to onboard you once the above checks are complete - the entire process can take between 2 - 6 weeks.

We know that diverse teams build better products. If you’re from an under-represented community, we’d especially love to hear from you.

Even if you don’t feel 100% qualified, please do apply anyway. Your attitude and desire to grow are just as important as your experience.
