EHS/OHS Lead

Overview:

EHS/OHS & Regulatory Affairs Lead This role is a critical dual-function position responsible for the operational safety of a high-tech semiconductor clean room and the regulatory compliance of advanced equipment (Photomask and Wafer technology) entering the Korean market. The candidate will create the safety culture with the local and global team, oversee certification processes for complex machinery, and act as a primary liaison between technical staff, visitors, and the Innovation Center Head.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean Room Environmental Health & Safety (EHS/OHS)
• Safety Architecture: Define, implement, and maintain the end-to-end operational safety protocols for a high-tech clean room environment.
• Operational Oversight: Proactively monitor the environment to ensure continuous 24/7 safety and strict adherence to semiconductor industry standards.
• Training & Culture: Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training for all personnel; foster high-engagement relationships with staff and visitors to ensure compliance.
• Incident Reporting: Serve as the primary point of contact for safety violations or environmental misuse, reporting directly to the Head of the Innovation Center.

Regulatory Affairs & Equipment Certification

• Import Compliance: Manage the regulatory lifecycle for all incoming semiconductor equipment and tools into Korea.
• Certification Management: Secure and maintain relevant local (KCs, KCs-Ex, etc.) and global certifications for equipment and the specific media/chemicals used by the tools.
• Standards Alignment: Ensure all hardware and operational processes meet both stringent internal company standards and South Korean national regulations.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: Korean certified EHS professional with proven track record in EHS/OHS within semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing; specific experience with Photomask or Wafer processing is highly preferred.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with South Korean safety laws (KOSHA), environmental regulations, and equipment certification requirements.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional relationship management skills to influence safety behaviors across diverse teams and visitors.
• Reporting Line: Directly reports to the Innovation Center Manager. |

To ensure the EHS & Regulatory Affairs Lead is effectively managing both the physical safety of the clean room and the complex certification landscape in Korea, the following KPIs are organized by their core functional domains.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

1. Operational Safety & Environment (EHS/OHS)

• Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR): Maintain a target of zero lost-time injuries and medical treatment cases within the clean room.
• Safety Training Completion: Achieve 100% compliance for safety inductions and specialized clean room training for all staff and visitors prior to entry.
• Audit Performance: Achieve a score of 95% or higher on internal and external monthly safety audits and environmental "housekeeping" inspections.
• Violation Response Time: Ensure 100% of safety violations or environment misuses are reported to the Innovation Center Head within 1 working day of detection, accompanied by a preliminary mitigation plan.

2. Regulatory Affairs & Equipment Compliance

• Certification On-Time Delivery: Ensure 100% of equipment and media entering Korea possess the required KCs (Korea Certification) or equivalent local/global safety marks prior to the scheduled installation date.
• Documentation Accuracy: Maintain a zero-error rate in regulatory filings to avoid customs delays or administrative fines from Korean authorities (e.g., KOSHA, Ministry of Environment).
• Standard Alignment: Conduct bi-annual reviews of company vs. local standards, ensuring 100% alignment and documented updates to local operating procedures within 30 days of any regulatory change.

3. Culture & Relationship Management

• Safety Suggestion Rate: Encourage proactive participation with a target of at least 2 safety or process improvement suggestions per quarter from general staff, facilitated by the EHS Lead.
• Visitor Compliance Rate: Maintain zero safety incidents involving external visitors, measured by post-visit compliance checklists.
• Training Effectiveness Score: Achieve an average score of 4.5/5.0 on post-training feedback surveys regarding the clarity and relevance of clean room safety protocols.

4. Innovation Center Reporting

• Monthly Compliance Dashboard: Provide a concise executive summary to the Innovation Center Manager by the 5th business day of each month, highlighting risk levels, certification statuses, and training gaps.
