Mobile Systems Engineer - Device AI

ZenteiQ is building a next-generation mobile application focused on delivering exceptionally fast, responsive, and reliable user experiences across Android and iOS. This role goes well beyond standard application development; it involves solving hard engineering problems around startup time, UI responsiveness, memory optimization, battery efficiency, and offline-first behavior. Responsibilities:

• Build and optimize high-performance mobile applications across Android and iOS platforms.
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers to translate design specs into fluid, pixel-perfect interfaces while maintaining design system integrity.
• Improve application startup time, rendering performance, and responsiveness across core user journeys.
• Diagnose and eliminate memory leaks, UI lag/jank, and battery drain issues.
• Develop reliable offline-first application workflows with efficient local data handling.
• Write and maintain performant native integrations and mobile system bridges where required.
• Participate in device-level testing, profiling, and performance benchmarking.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on scalable architecture and production delivery quality.
• Drive engineering best practices around performance optimization and application reliability.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience building production-grade mobile applications.
• Strong React Native experience with production-grade mobile applications.
• Strong hands-on Flutter experience is mandatory, including experience working with Flutter packages and building production-grade cross-platform applications.
• Experience with other cross-platform or native environments is strongly sought after: Kotlin Multiplatform with Compose UI frameworks, Kotlin for Android, and/or Swift for iOS native development.
• Strong understanding of mobile performance optimization principles.
• Experience with native bridge integrations using Flutter (mandatory); integration experience with Kotlin, Swift, or Objective-C preferred.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting mindset.
• Experience building offline-capable mobile applications.
• Familiarity with memory profiling, render optimization, and battery efficiency concepts.
• Strong testing discipline and production-quality engineering practices.
• Tech Stack: Flutter, Dart, Swift, Kotlin, Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), Native Platform Channels (MethodChannel/FFI), Custom Flutter Package/Plugin Authoring, Offline-First Architecture, On-Device AI (LiteRT-LM), Mobile Performance Optimization (Flutter DevTools, Xcode Instruments, Firebase Test Labs).

Good to Have / Bonus Points:

• Hands-on experience profiling, debugging, and optimizing mobile performance using Flutter DevTools, Firebase Test Labs, Xcode Instruments, and Android Profiler.
• Exposure to low-level mobile performance engineering.
• Experience authoring custom Flutter plugins using Swift and Kotlin.
• Experience optimizing applications across low-to-mid-range Android devices.
• Familiarity with native C++ integrations in mobile environments.
• Experience with device compatibility testing and performance benchmarking.
