Senior Software Engineer

Zeroto1 is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Applied AI to build production-grade AI systems and backend platform capabilities. You'll work across backend services, enterprise data and context, AI agents, workflow orchestration, integrations, evaluation, and production operations.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable Python services and APIs for AI workflows, context resolution, orchestration, integrations, evaluation, tracing, and audit.
• Build enterprise integrations with databases, APIs, documents, events, files, webhooks, and MCP.
• Develop reliable asynchronous workflows using queues, events, and state machines with retries, idempotency, timeouts, and failure recovery.
• Build secure, tenant-aware systems with permissions, provenance, lineage, auditability, and data governance.
• Integrate LLMs and AI tools with structured outputs, validation, guardrails, fallbacks, tracing, and regression evaluation.
• Own testing, releases, migrations, observability, and production operations.
• Contribute to frontend/full-stack development when required.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production software.
• Strong expertise in Python, API development, relational databases, transactions, migrations, testing, and asynchronous workloads.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, queues/event systems, background jobs, caching, and concurrency.
• Experience integrating enterprise/third-party systems, authentication, permissions, webhooks, rate limits, and failure recovery.
• Hands-on cloud/platform experience with Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, logging, metrics, tracing, and deployment automation.
• Practical experience building LLM/AI systems beyond prompt experimentation, including RAG/retrieval, tool use, structured outputs, evaluation, and guardrails.
