Associate Professors- Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Responsible for teaching and mentoring students, developing and delivering academic programmes, assessing student performance, supervising research projects and postgraduate students, conducting and publishing research, developing research proposals, supporting curriculum development, participating in academic conferences, and providing mentorship and academic leadership. Requires a relevant PhD and strong university teaching and research experience. The positions are based in Ruiru and require on-site work.

Key Responsibilities

• To teach Pharmacy Units allocated by the Head of Department.
• Designing, developing, planning and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
• Delivering high-quality lectures and practical sessions.
• Assess student performance through examinations, objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs), coursework, and practical evaluations.
• Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and clinical placements.
• Reviewing pharmacy course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required.
• Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes and the development of research activities.
• Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals.
• Seeking and participating in consultancies.
• Dissemination of research findings at national or international conferences, scientific symposiums and webinars.
• Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors or as captured in your detailed job description;
