Amir Gobba

Reporting to the General Manager of Corporate Finance, Amir leads corporate finance activities and manages a large corporate portfolio. He coaches a team of accounts managers to reach business targets and KPIs, while driving client acquisition and deeper relationship management. He reviews and recommends credit proposals and monitors non-performing loans, supporting disciplined credit processes and regulatory standards. He also contributes to strategic and operational planning through market and industry analysis and business model assessment.

Amir performed detailed credit analysis and provided recommendations for approving corporate credit facilities, ensuring compliance with risk management requirements. He identified and pursued new business opportunities to exceed budget targets while managing relationships with corporate clients. He monitored credit services against internal policies and CBK regulations and reviewed client portfolios, including collateral and security fulfillment. He also ensured ongoing adherence to compliance standards across the credit lifecycle.

Amir developed branch marketing, sales, and service strategies aligned with HSBC’s global approach to maximize branch profitability. He expanded the customer base across corporate and retail segments by promoting bank products to support branch performance. He ensured compliance with group policies on compliance and money laundering deterrence, including adherence to local laws. He also supervised branch operations in the Branch Manager’s absence and coached staff, identifying training needs and improving operational standards.

Amir handled customer-facing marketing and sales presentations and executed a range of corporate, retail, and wealth banking transactions. He contributed to branch business planning for both existing accounts and prospective clients to meet and exceed targets. He drove cross-selling and referral activities across multiple banking areas, including private banking, trade finance, corporate credit, and treasury. He focused on strengthening relationships and growing product adoption among clients.

Amir carried out credit duties including analysis of historical and projected financials to identify key issues and ensure compliance with covenants before preparing credit applications. He assessed business, market, industry, and credit risks and developed practical credit solutions based on client needs and company regulations. On the marketing side, he built and maintained relationships with business clients, targeted new prospects through business calls, and negotiated new opportunities. He also supported sales and market research and worked to maintain strong client satisfaction.

Amir prepared journal entries, reconciled general ledger accounts, and managed daily bookkeeping activities. He analyzed financial statements, performed monthly closing, and investigated accounting discrepancies. He coordinated with auditors and reviewed revenue and expenditure trends to support budgetary recommendations. His work focused on accurate financial reporting and resolution of month-end issues.
