Overview

I have spent more than 25 years in the service of major corporations using my skills in leadership positions requiring extensive collaboration with sales, customers, supply chain, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams. These roles have given me a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing environment and the importance of aligning operational performance with overall business objectives. My approach focuses on understanding the complete business process, improving visibility through meaningful operational data, and ensuring that technology investments deliver measurable business value. My combined experience in manufacturing leadership, global supply chain development, facility expansion, ERP modernization, and cross-functional project execution has given me a broad understanding of how to successfully manage complex initiatives while maintaining alignment with strategic business objectives. I was recruited by WHEMCO into a hybrid operational and IT leadership role to modernize the company's legacy MRP system, which dated back to the early 1990s, and transition its divisions to a modern ERP platform. I assembled and led a cross-functional team responsible for analyzing and documenting business processes across all divisions. We developed comprehensive process flow diagrams, established best practices, identified process owners, and defined the requirements necessary for successful ERP integration. This initiative encompassed virtually every functional area of the business, including sales, estimating, order management, job costing, production scheduling, material planning, purchasing, shipping, maintenance, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial management. Each process assessment included proposed system enhancements, programming requirements, implementation timelines, associated costs, and anticipated operational benefits. I presented our findings and recommendations to divisional presidents, the CEO, and company ownership, securing executive alignment and organizational buy-in. Beyond ERP modernization, I regularly travel between manufacturing locations to work directly with operational leadership, sales, and production teams. I analyze existing and emerging challenges, identify potential risks, and develop data-driven solutions that allow management to address issues before they affect production, delivery performance, or customer satisfaction. While at Bloom Engineering, I managed manufacturing operations for specialty-engineered combustion products, working closely with sales, engineering, production, and international supply chain teams. The manufacturing environment involved complex, multilevel bills of materials and extensive coordination of component manufacturing, fabrication, procurement, and final assembly. I also played a key leadership role in the company's international manufacturing operations, including redesigning and expanding its manufacturing facility in China to support growing demand associated with the expansion of the Chinese steel industry. As part of this initiative, I established the facility's outsourcing supplier network in China, coordinating vendor development and manufacturing capabilities to support local production requirements. This experience required balancing engineering specifications, manufacturing capacity, supplier capabilities, production schedules, costs, and customer expectations across international operations. I have been responsible for developing and managing operational budgets, overseeing on-time delivery performance, improving manufacturing efficiencies, and coordinating workforce and production scheduling throughout the manufacturing process. My responsibilities have also included labor relations and union contract negotiations at unionized facilities. This experience has strengthened my ability to balance operational priorities, financial objectives, workforce requirements, and customer expectations. I take particular pride in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, optimizing processes, and working collaboratively across departments to deliver measurable results. My career has provided me with extensive leadership experience across diverse manufacturing environments, including heavy industrial casting, high-volume production, and complex fabrication operations. I have directed manufacturing operations involving centrifugal casting of large bi-metallic work rolls weighing between 5,000 and 40,000 pounds for the steel industry, as well as high-volume permanent mold casting operations producing copper, aluminum, and bronze components ranging from 5 to 35 pounds. Additionally, I have managed fabrication operations manufacturing complex combustion burner systems, involving extensive, multilevel bills of materials. These operations required comprehensive coordination of manufacturing processes, from producing individual components and fasteners to fabricating and assembling complete systems. What I enjoy most is understanding how an organization operates, identifying opportunities for improvement, and bringing together people, processes, and technology to achieve meaningful results. My combined background in manufacturing operations, project management, ERP systems, and cross-functional leadership allows me to approach business challenges from both an operational and strategic perspective.
