Provided 24x7 operations support for a hybrid SQL Server environment spanning on-premises, Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs, focusing on availability, performance, security, and recovery. Performed database health checks using Query Store, Azure Monitor, Extended Events, DMVs and wait statistics, then implemented tuning for queries, indexes, and configuration. Planned and executed SQL-to-Azure migrations using DMA/DMS approaches and validated cutover outcomes, connectivity, and post-migration performance. Automated routine operations and health checks with PowerShell and supported CI/CD-based schema deployments via Azure DevOps.

Led migration of legacy Sybase ASE databases to SQL Server 2019 in a secure federal environment, including installation/configuration, schema and code conversion, data validation, and performance verification. Designed normalized target schemas and converted legacy objects into SQL Server tables, constraints, and programmable objects while preserving data integrity and application compatibility. Built PowerShell-driven migration validation with reconciliation and health checks, and tuned critical workloads using Query Store, Extended Events, DMVs, and execution-plan review. Prepared migration runbooks with rollback and disaster-recovery documentation for controlled releases and change management.

Administered SQL Server 2016/2019 across on-premises and Azure, covering installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, security, monitoring, backup/recovery, and production incident support. Migrated on-premises databases to Azure SQL Database and SQL Server on Azure VMs using DMA assessments, backup/restore, and log-shipping cutover approaches. Improved application database performance by tuning queries, indexes, and statistics and by analyzing execution plans and server configurations. Developed SSIS-based ETL workflows for Power BI/SSRS reporting and automated backup validation and maintenance using PowerShell and Azure DevOps CI/CD with rollback capability.

Provided 24x7 production support for 300+ SQL Server instances supporting a SaaS business planning platform, including very large databases with strict availability SLAs. Managed SQL Server installations, configuration, patching, and upgrades, and handled security settings, maintenance jobs, and server/database performance baselining. Executed on-premises-to-Azure migration programs using DMA/Azure Migrate/DMS and cutover strategies, followed by sizing, health validation, and operational readiness. Implemented HA/DR patterns including Always On Availability Groups and log shipping, and used SQL Sentry and DMVs/wait statistics for ongoing troubleshooting and performance analysis, while supporting compliance requirements such as HIPAA and GDPR.
