Overview
AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization headquartered in Washington, DC that serves Americans aged 50 and older with advocacy, information and member benefits. Founded in 1958, it advocates on Social Security, Medicare and other policy issues, publishes content on health, money, work and caregiving, and operates AARP Services, a taxable subsidiary managing branded insurance, financial and travel products, as well as AARP Foundation, which works with older adults living in or near poverty. It hires in marketing, business development, finance, legal and litigation, research, product management and user experience, and offers advocacy internships in state offices.
