Overview
Astranis builds small geostationary communications satellites that cost a fraction of a traditional spacecraft. Each satellite serves a single country or region, so an operator buys dedicated bandwidth instead of leasing capacity on a shared platform. The company manufactures at its own facility in San Francisco and has flown missions for customers in Alaska, the Philippines and Mexico.
