Barcelona Supercomputing Center

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center is the national supercomputing centre of Spain and the home of the MareNostrum machines that serve European research. Its departments cover computer architecture, life sciences, earth sciences and computer applications, and its artificial intelligence group trained the Salamandra family of open Spanish and Catalan language models. The centre also designs processors based on open instruction sets and hosts one of the European artificial intelligence factories; it also trains researchers and hosts one of the largest computing user communities in southern Europe.
