Overview
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is Canada's largest mental health teaching hospital, based in Toronto, providing inpatient, outpatient, forensic and virtual care alongside research and education. Formed in 1998 through the merger of the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry, the Addiction Research Foundation, the Donwood Institute and the Queen Street Mental Health Centre, it is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and runs the Krembil, McCain and Temerty research centres. It also serves as the Toronto hub for coordinated access to mental health and addictions services and hires research, data, service coordination, security and finance staff.
