Overview
The IOTA Foundation is a German non-profit registered in Berlin in 2017 that develops the IOTA distributed ledger. The protocol was designed for machine-to-machine payments and data integrity in industrial and Internet-of-Things settings, using a directed acyclic graph instead of a linear chain. The foundation collaborates with European industrial partners and public bodies on digital identity, trade documentation and mobility pilots.
