Overview
State Employees' Credit Union (SECU) is a member-owned, not-for-profit credit union headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, offering checking and savings accounts, mortgages, consumer loans, credit cards, insurance and financial advisory services. Founded in Raleigh on June 4, 1937 with 17 members, it describes itself as the second-largest credit union in the US, serving more than 2.8 million members through branches and ATMs across North Carolina, with brokerage offered through its subsidiary Credit Union Investment Services. It hires member services representatives and officers, mortgage loan specialists, cybersecurity analysts, software engineers and operations staff.
