Overview
Outlier is an expert marketplace operated by Scale AI that pays specialists to produce and review training data for frontier language models. Contributors work remotely on tasks such as writing reference answers, ranking competing model outputs, grading code, checking mathematical reasoning and probing systems for unsafe behaviour, across many languages and professional fields. Applicants pass domain assessments before receiving paid work, and the resulting reinforcement learning and evaluation data is delivered to the AI laboratories and enterprises that Scale AI serves.
