Overview
Proton VPN is a high-security virtual private network service operated by Proton AG, a privacy-focused software firm headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. Originally developed in 2017 by scientists and engineers who met at CERN (and who built Proton Mail), the service provides end-to-end encrypted internet routing backed by strict Swiss data protection laws.
