REWE Group is a German cooperative retail and tourism group headquartered in Cologne, operating REWE supermarkets, PENNY discount stores, toom DIY stores and the DERTOUR travel business. Founded in 1927 as an association of purchasing cooperatives, it runs REWE, the second largest food retailer in Germany with around 3,300 stores, and has further retail operations elsewhere in Europe, including Austria. Its board recruits mostly for stores and logistics, with sales assistants for fresh counters, bakery, produce and checkout, warehouse and logistics staff, truck drivers, retail apprentices, management trainees and platform engineers.
