Overview
Takealot Group is a South African e-commerce company based in Cape Town that runs Takealot, the country's largest online retail store and marketplace, alongside the Mr D food and grocery delivery service. Founded in 2011 and owned by Naspers, the group operates its own warehouses and delivery network through Takealot Fulfilment Solutions, which handles over 30 million orders a year, and its third-party marketplace accounts for over a fifth of units sold. It hires software, data and machine learning engineers, product managers, marketplace account and merchandising staff, supply chain and loss prevention specialists, Mr D sales and partner teams, and interns in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
