UTEC, or University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners, is a deep tech venture capital firm investing in science and technology startups. It backs seed and early-stage companies in fields such as life sciences, drug discovery, robotics, materials, semiconductors and computing, many originating from the University of Tokyo and other research institutions. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Tokyo, it is approved by the University of Tokyo as a technology transfer related business operator.
