Overview
Vitalant is a nonprofit blood services organization headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, that collects blood, plasma and platelets from volunteer donors and supplies blood products and transfusion medicine services to hospitals across the US. Founded in 1943 as the Salt River Valley Blood Bank in Phoenix, it runs about 115 donation centers and serves roughly 900 hospitals, needing more than 4,500 donations every day. Most openings are clinical and laboratory roles such as phlebotomists, donor care technicians, medical laboratory scientists and registered nurses, plus blood transport drivers, hospital distribution technicians, account managers and fundraising staff.
