Database Administration & Support
Manage Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c or higher) in Production and Non-Production environments.
Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
Handle incident management for P1/P2 issues with RCA documentation.
Provide L2 support and escalate to L3/vendor when required.
Backup & Recovery
Configure and manage RMAN backups.
Perform restoration and recovery drills.
Validate backup integrity and retention policies.
Support DR activities and periodic DR drills.
Performance & Optimization
Analyze AWR/ASH reports.
Perform SQL tuning and database performance optimization.
Monitor and manage tablespace growth and storage planning.
High Availability & Replication
Manage Oracle Data Guard (Physical/Logical Standby).
Monitor replication health and resolve synchronization issues.
Support switchover/failover activities.
Security & Compliance
Implement database security best practices.
User management, privilege control, and audit compliance.
Apply CPU/PSU patches as per Oracle recommendations.
Change & Release Management
Execute database changes following ITIL processes.
Participate in CAB reviews.
Maintain detailed documentation for changes and deployments.
Cloud & Infrastructure (If Applicable)
Manage Oracle databases on AWS RDS / OCI / Azure.
Support migration activities (On-Prem to Cloud).
Monitor cloud resource utilization and cost optimization.
Technical Skills Required
Strong knowledge of Oracle Database Architecture.
Hands-on experience with RMAN backup & recovery.
Experience in Performance Tuning (AWR, ADDM, SQL Tuning).
Good understanding of Oracle Data Guard.
Experience with Linux/Unix OS.
Knowledge of shell scripting.
Familiarity with ASM.
Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.
Understanding of ITSM tools and ITIL processes.
Preferred Skills
Experience in banking/financial domain environments.
Exposure to RAC environments.
Oracle Cloud / AWS RDS experience.
Automation scripting (Shell/Python).
Oracle certifications (OCP preferred).
