Junior Financial Controller

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Junior Financial Controller to support the Finance Manager with day-to-day financial administration, transaction processing and accounting functions.

The successful candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations and supporting monthly financial reporting processes. • Capture and process financial transactions, invoices, receipts and payment documentation accurately and timeously.

• Maintain accurate financial records, spreadsheets and supporting documentation.

• Assist with accounts payable and receivable administration, including supplier invoices, customer account queries and payment requests.

• Support bank, supplier and customer reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

• Assist with monthly financial reporting, month-end processes and audit preparation.

• Maintain accurate information on accounting systems and adhere to internal financial procedures and controls.

• Identify errors, discrepancies or missing information and escalate these to the Finance Manager.

• Provide general administrative and transactional support to the Finance Manager.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is essential.
• A diploma, certificate or degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management or a related field will be advantageous.

Experience

• 1–2 years' experience in a finance administration, accounts clerk, bookkeeping or junior accounting role is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• High levels of accuracy in data capturing and financial administration.
• Good organisational, planning and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work with accounting systems and learn new financial software.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to identify errors, investigate discrepancies and escalate issues appropriately.
• Ability to work independently on routine tasks while collaborating with the wider Finance team.
• Strong ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential financial information.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback and develop professionally.

R10 000 to R15 000 (CTC) dependent on experience and qualifications
