The successful candidate must demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to make decisions within the scope of their authority while ensuring accuracy and compliance with court and client deadlines. We are seeking a highly organized professional who can work independently and collaboratively, fostering strong relationships and effective communication with attorneys, paralegals, and staff across all firm offices to support the timely and efficient delivery of legal services.

Your Role:

As a Docketing Clerk within our litigation team, you will:

  • Work with attorneys, paralegals and legal administrative assistants to ensure that litigation deadlines and reminders are entered into the electronic tracking system in a timely fashion.
  • Update and/or cancel docket entries as appropriate (i.e., case settlement, trial date changes).
  • Prepare reports of deadlines entered into the docket for attorney review and approval.
  • Respond to inquiries from attorneys, paralegals and legal administrative assistants relating to docket and deadline issues in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with the integration of docket deadlines on cases transferred from other firms.
  • Consult with paralegals and attorneys with any questions if instructions or documents are unclear prior to data entry into the docketing database.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Growth Mindset: Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and problem-solving.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.

Required Experience:

  • Two-year college degree or three to five years of relevant work experience.
  • Previous litigation docketing experience working in a law firm, corporate legal department or government agency.
  • Working knowledge of litigation docketing procedures.
  • Ability to work beyond the standard scheduled hours as needed.

The targeted salary range for this position is from $65,000 - $80,000, which reflects the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will depend on several factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
