We are currently seeking a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our team in Palmerston North. For the first six months, the successful candidate will support our Feilding practice one day per week before transitioning to a permanent Palmerston North-based role.

As a Dental Assistant/Receptionist, you'll play an important role in ensuring the practice runs smoothly and efficiently. This varied role combines clinical assistance, patient care, and front-desk administration, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both patient interaction and hands-on clinical support.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting clinicians chairside during a range of dental procedures
• Preparing treatment rooms and maintaining high sterilisation and infection control standards
• Welcoming patients and creating a positive and professional experience from arrival to departure
• Managing appointments, answering phone enquiries, and responding to patient queries
• Processing payments and completing administrative tasks
• Supporting the team to ensure seamless daily operations
• Contributing to a friendly, positive, and collaborative workplace culture

Working Hours:

• Tuesday: 8:15am to 5:15pm (Feilding for the first 6 months)
• Wednesday: 8:15am to 5:15pm (Palmerston North)
• Thursday: 8:15am to 5:15pm (Palmerston North)
• Friday: 8:15am to 5:15pm (Palmerston North)

Following the initial six-month period, the role will be based entirely in Palmerston North.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have previous experience as a Dental Assistant, Receptionist, or in a customer-facing role (preferred but not essential)
• Be passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and patient care
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be well organised with strong attention to detail
• Be confident multitasking and working in a busy environment
• Have a positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
• Hold valid New Zealand work rights
• Live locally in Palmerston North, Feilding, or a nearby area that allows for a reliable daily commute
• Be able to travel to Feilding one day per week during the initial six-month period
