Abbott is an American healthcare company founded in 1888 by a Chicago physician who began making precise doses of alkaloid medicines for his own patients. It now operates four large businesses: diagnostics, including the point-of-care and molecular testing that scaled during the pandemic, medical devices spanning cardiac rhythm, structural heart, neuromodulation and continuous glucose monitoring, nutrition brands such as Similac and Ensure, and established pharmaceuticals sold mainly in emerging markets. The company is headquartered in North Chicago, Illinois, and separated its research-based drug business as AbbVie in 2013.

By combining operational excellence with strong project and stakeholder management, you will help optimize digital sales channels, drive business growth, and deliver a seamless end-to-end experience for customers and patients across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure the successful day-to-day operation, performance, and continuous improvement of Abbott Diabetes Care's e-commerce platforms and digital channels in collaboration with IT delivery teams, country e-commerce teams, and external service providers.
  • Serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, regional e-commerce teams, IT functions, development partners, and third-party vendors, ensuring effective collaboration across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple concurrent e-commerce initiatives, including webshop enhancements, platform optimizations, and new webshop launches, while managing activities across all project phases from requirements gathering and planning through testing, implementation, and post-launch support.
  • Gather, analyze, prioritize, and document business requirements, translating business needs into clear and actionable solutions in partnership with development, operations, and delivery teams.
  • Monitor platform performance and support the effective management of end-to-end e-commerce processes, including product catalog, ordering, payment, invoicing, distribution, fulfillment, and related back-office integrations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute testing activities with business stakeholders, country teams, IT teams, and external partners to ensure high-quality and successful solution delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the customer and patient journey, drive innovation, and support the continued growth of Abbott's Direct-to-Patient (DTP) business and digital sales channels.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Business Relationship Managers (BRMs), IT teams, regional stakeholders, and external providers to enable operational excellence, business growth, and scalable digital commerce solutions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Postgraduate diploma or university degree in Engineering, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Media Informatics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including experience in online and e-commerce environments with exposure to the implementation, utilization, and commercialization of IT solutions.
  • Action- and solution-oriented, with a self-driven, proactive, and hands-on approach.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen awareness of timelines and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with strong business acumen and the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proven experience leading and coordinating internal IT delivery teams and managing external service providers in both operational and project environments, including onsite, nearshore, and offshore models.
  • Experience developing and improving processes and quality standards across omni-channel and digital retail customer journeys.
  • Ability to gather, document, and analyze business requirements and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, a high level of accountability, and experience working in international teams.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with e-commerce platforms and technologies such as Magento, Commercetools, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), or similar solutions.
  • Experience in a mass-market or consumer-oriented environment.
  • Practical experience with web, portal, and related digital technologies.
  • German language skills and/or additional European language capabilities.
