Responsibilities:
1.Deploy,configure, and maintain the local and cloud computing resources that the Computational Sciences department relies on.
2.Monitor system performance and capacity; troubleshoot issues independently.
3.Deploy and maintain open-source LLMs (e.g. Qwen, DeepSeek) using frameworks such as vLLM; support the team's RAG knowledge base and internal AI applications.
4.Manage scientific software, including Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) platforms.
5.Build digital tools for scientists: internal web applications with LLM-powered backends to improve R&D efficiency.
6.Work with corporate IT and vendors on departmental infrastructure needs.
7.Support data pipelines moving information between instruments, LIMS, storage, and analysis.
8.Maintain data storage systems (file servers, object storage, databases).
Requirements:
1.A BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
2.Professional experience in systems administration, DevOps, IT, or software development - 2-5 years with BSc, 0-2 years with MSc.
3.Solid hands-on Linux systems administration skills.
4.Exposure to HPC clusters and cloud platforms.
5.Solid coding ability (Python, Bash, or similar) to build automated tools and backend services; fluency with the AI model development stack a strong plus.
6.Experience with LLM serving frameworks (vLLM, Ollama, etc.) is preferred.
7.Strong troubleshooting instincts and comfort working through ambiguous technical problems.
8.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
