We Are:
Accenture Digital Core, the Reinvention Partner helping the world's leading enterprises rebuild their technology foundations for the AI era. Within Digital Core, our AI-Ready Data practice builds trusted, governed, and AI-ready data foundations - the fuel that powers agentic and generative AI at enterprise scale. We work across data migration, data modernization, and knowledge engineering, turning legacy data estates into intelligence-first platforms. Want to shape and lead the engagements - and the practice - that make that transformation real for our clients? Read on to learn more about this role and who we are looking for.
You Are:
An experienced Data & AI delivery leader and trusted advisor who owns the client relationship as much as the delivery outcome. As an Associate Director within our AI-Ready Data tower, you are the accountable Technology Delivery Lead for our largest and most complex data migration and modernization engagements - the person a client CIO or CDO calls when they need confidence the program is on track, and the person a client Chief Architect calls when a technical decision needs an experienced second opinion.
You bring proven delivery leadership across cloud data platforms, the gravitas to manage multiple senior stakeholder relationships simultaneously, and the commercial and people leadership skills to grow both the engagement and the practice around it. You coach Senior Managers and delivery leads, contribute to the AI-Ready Data offering's growth, and help define how Accenture delivers data-driven reinvention at scale.
What you'll be doing:
Delivery Leadership
Hold end-to-end accountability for delivery of our largest data migration and data modernization programs - scope, budget, timeline, quality, and risk - often across multiple concurrent workstreams or towers.
Set and own delivery governance for the engagement: steering committee cadence, executive status reporting, RAID and dependency management, and cutover/hypercare planning for programs at enterprise scale.
Own escalation management for the account, resolving or reframing critical risks before they reach the client relationship or executive sponsors.
Champion and scale adoption of Accenture's AI-accelerated migration methodology, Data Product Factory, and related delivery assets to compress timelines and improve outcomes across the account.
Client & Executive Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary delivery-side relationship owner with client C-suite and senior technology executives (CDO, CIO, VP Data & Analytics), building trust through consistent, transparent program governance.
Partner with client Chief Architects and technology leads on complex, cross-cutting design and modernization decisions, ensuring architecture choices support delivery feasibility and long-term data strategy.
Represent Accenture in executive steering committees, business reviews, and value-realization conversations, connecting delivery progress to the client's broader data and AI strategy.
Identify and shape opportunities for account growth, bringing new AI-Ready Data offerings (data modernization, knowledge engineering, managed services) into existing client relationships.
Team, Talent & Practice Leadership
Lead large, multi-functional, often multi-geography delivery teams (data engineering, architecture, quality engineering, business analysis), setting the operating rhythm and culture for the engagement.
Mentor and develop Senior Managers and delivery leads, building a pipeline of future delivery leadership within the practice.
Contribute to AI-Ready Data practice-building activities - reusable delivery assets, offering development, proposal support, and eminence-building (points of view, case studies, client-facing thought leadership).
Support commercial ownership of the engagement - staffing plans, effort estimation, margin/utilization tracking, and input into SOWs and contract structuring.
Technical Credibility
Maintain strong working knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), data architecture, ETL/ELT, and AI-ready data patterns - sufficient to arbitrate architecture debates and unblock technical risk at the executive level.
Ensure data governance, quality, and security frameworks are embedded across the engagement and aligned to client and regulatory requirements (including emerging AI-specific regulation).
Bring an informed point of view on cloud data platform and AI-native data modernization trends to client and internal strategy conversations.
Here's what you need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
12-15+ years of experience in data solutions delivery, including at least 6-8 years in delivery leadership roles on large-scale, cloud-based data migration or modernization programs.
Demonstrated track record owning delivery of complex, multi-workstream data programs end-to-end, including executive-level governance and escalation management.
Deep understanding of data architecture, ETL/ELT, data warehousing/lakehouse, and data modeling; strong working knowledge of cloud data services on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Proven ability to manage multiple senior client relationships simultaneously - both executive sponsors and client technical/architecture leadership - with exceptional gravitas and communication skills.
Experience leading large, cross-functional, and geographically distributed delivery teams, with a demonstrated track record of developing future delivery leaders.
Commercial acumen - experience with staffing/effort estimation, SOW input, and engagement financial or utilization management.
Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks across large, complex datasets.
Exceptional executive communication and presence, with experience presenting to and advising C-suite stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
Prior consulting/systems-integration delivery leadership experience, including ownership of proposal development, SOW structuring, and account growth.
Hands-on familiarity with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar lakehouse technologies.
Experience with modern data pipeline/orchestration tooling (e.g., Airflow, Fivetran) and enterprise ETL tools such as Informatica IDMC/IICS.
Experience deploying or overseeing GenAI-accelerated migration or data-modernization approaches (e.g., AI-assisted code/data conversion, AI-based data mapping and reconciliation) at program scale.
Experience with data modeling, big data platforms (e.g., Cloudera, Hortonworks), MySQL/NoSQL, and CQRS/Event Sourcing patterns.
Relevant certifications - AWS/Azure/GCP architect-level, PMP, or Scrum/SAFe at scale (e.g., SPC).
Depth in one or more priority industries - Banking & Capital Markets, Health & Public Service, Communications/Media/Technology, Resources, or Products.
A track record of building or contributing to reusable delivery assets, offering IP, or thought leadership within a data practice.
