You Are: Oracle DBA / Migration Specialist

The Work:

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining databases, installing database management systems, and developing procedures for day-to-day maintenance and problem resolution. You will be a subject matter expert, engaging with multiple teams and contributing to key decisions. Providing solutions to problems that apply across multiple teams is a critical part of this role.  Master proficiency in Database Management and expert proficiency in Database Performance Management are required, along with experience managing data replication, performance tuning, and cutover activities using tools such as Oracle Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM) is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise database environments
• Install, configure, and optimize database management systems
• Develop SQL reporting queries and scripts to support application and business needs
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution
• Perform database performance tuning and SQL statement optimization
• Review, evaluate, and implement required database design changes
• Develop and maintain database objects including procedures, functions, packages, and triggers
• Manage data replication and support cutover activities using tools such as Oracle ZDM
• Author migration runbooks and support cutover planning
• Collaborate with multiple teams as a subject matter expert to drive technical decisions
• Ensure database compliance with organizational policies, standards, and best practices
• Assist with documenting processes, operating procedures, and technical guides
• Provide support within regulated, Federal Government, or compliance-driven environments

  Here’s What You Need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Technical discipline or 10 additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree
• Minimum 6 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle 12c, 19c, or later)
• Intermediate proficiency in Oracle Database Administration (DBA)
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Experience with migration runbook authoring and cutover planning
• Experience with cross-platform migrations, cloud database services (OCI, AWS RDS, Azure), or hybrid architectures
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
• Experience with one or more VAEC Operational Tools (VAECOT)

  Bonus Points If:

• You hold a current OCI certification or have recently passed an OCI exam (Associate/Professional/Specialist)
• You have experience creating technical documentation, SOPs, and how-to guides
• You have ITIL certification or ITIL framework knowledge
• You are knowledgeable about security standards, countermeasures, and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, HIPAA, PCI, NIST 800-53, CIS benchmarks)
• You have prior Federal Government  experience
• Technical support and  OS-level remediation for vulnerability scans
• You have experience with Amazon Web Service (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure
• You have experience with DevOps configuration technologies such as Ansible, Chef, Docker, Kubernetes, Puppet
• You have experience writing, testing, and maintaining code in languages such as JSON, Python, or HashiCorp Configuration Language

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. $89,000—$170,200 USD
