- This position requires on-site presence in Decatur, GA, following a hybrid work model.
Job Summary
- Lead the design and development of new healthcare lighting and patient-room solutions from concept through production launch.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, and Testing teams to deliver innovative products that meet customer and business needs.
- Develop proof-of-concept models, prototypes, and test samples to rapidly evaluate and refine new ideas.
- Plan and execute product validation activities, including performance, reliability, safety, and usability testing.
- Partner with certification laboratories to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and product safety requirements.
- Apply engineering fundamentals and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to create scalable, cost-effective solutions.
- Work closely with manufacturing and supply chain partners to support successful product launches.
- Communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Lead technical development efforts for new products, platform expansions, and innovative features within the Nightingale portfolio.
- Continuously explore new design approaches that improve product performance and customer experience.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of product development or design engineering experience.
- Experience developing products from concept through commercialization.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Experience with prototype development, testing, and product validation.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, machining, castings, extrusions, and plastics.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project leadership skills.
- Experience with PLM systems and engineering change processes is preferred.
- Ability to travel as needed.
The range for this position is $85,700.00 to $120,000 USD. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
