About the role

RMIT educators bringing Generative AI into their learning and teaching, considering what to allow, what to redesign, what to teach differently. GAILE builds the guidance that helps them decide well, because AI-ready graduates depend on confident, capable educators.

This role will support in developing the content that moves RMIT from curiosity to practice in learning and teaching.

You write clearly about complicated things. You've built learning content for adults. You understand AI honestly enough to name its limits, and you take teaching seriously.

Engagement Type

This role is engaged on a casual, as-required basis. There is no guarantee of ongoing or regular work. Hours will vary depending on operational requirements.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience designing and writing educational or professional learning content for adult learners, with the ability to translate complex or emerging concepts into clear, practical and engaging resources.

  • Working knowledge of generative AI tools, including their capabilities, limitations and ethical considerations, and an understanding of how they are being applied in higher education learning and teaching.

  • Demonstrated ability to gather source material through interviews, consultation and desk research, and synthesise it into concise, structured content that follows an established framework or template.

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency of voice, structure and quality across a related body of resources.

  • Proficiency with digital content and learning platforms such as SharePoint, Canvas or comparable systems, together with a sound understanding of digital accessibility requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple deliverables concurrently, and complete work to a high standard within a short, fixed timeframe.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with academic and professional staff to elicit requirements and incorporate feedback into finished work.
