Software Quality Engineer - Adobe Premiere Pro

The Opportunity

Join Adobe's DVA Audio Team in Hamburg and work on the cutting edge of audio technology! This is an outstanding opportunity to join a group that transfers innovative audio tech from research into real-world applications. You will help build reliable and intuitive audio-related workflows for Premiere Pro, ensuring our users have a flawless and delightful experience.

What you'll Do

As a Quality Engineer, you will drive quality processes and ensure adequate test coverage of features. You will also engage with customers to coordinate and prioritize relevant feature requests and quality issues.

• Define test strategies for new features, determining what to cover manually and what to automate.
• Conduct detailed testing of new features, considering how editors will use them. This includes judgment on audio processing quality and fidelity.
• Perform cross-platform testing on macOS and Windows, including varying hardware configurations.
• Develop and manage test cases, scripts, and automated tests, including using the latest AI tools to build custom testing solutions.
• Write clear, reproducible bug reports with detailed steps, anticipated versus actual results, logs, and crash data.
• Verify fixes and perform regression testing before releases.
• Provide product feedback on quality and usability, contributing to release readiness decisions.
• Collaborate with departments outside of Engineering and work closely with our customers to capture feedback and diagnose issues.
• Own and drive quality related processes for the team

What you need to succeed

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or TV/Film/Media, or 3 years relevant practical experience in media or post-production.
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere (or another non-linear editing application) and familiarity with video and audio tools.
• Understanding of real-world editorial workflows and performance factors.
• Genuine interest in audio workflows, applications and technology
• Curiosity and a desire to learn about new technologies for software engineering and the technology industry.
• Problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Proficiency in test, bug and task management tools are a plus
• Typescript/python scripting skills are a plus
