  • Coordinate environmental compliance activities across power generation EPC projects, including natural gas facilities, renewable energy projects, and battery energy storage systems.
  • Interpret environmental regulations, permit conditions, and agency requirements to determine project obligations and develop practical compliance strategies.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental requirements related to air quality, water quality, stormwater, waste management, erosion and sediment control, and other environmental considerations.
  • Identify potential environmental compliance risks and develop recommendations to mitigate impacts to project schedules, budgets, and execution.
  • Support environmental compliance reviews, internal audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action programs.
  • Evaluate proposed project activities and construction methods for potential environmental impacts and regulatory implications.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and communicate relevant requirements to project teams.

Environmental Permitting and Project Development

  • Lead or coordinate environmental permitting activities, including identifying required permits, developing permitting schedules, tracking submittals, and monitoring approval milestones.
  • Coordinate with engineering, project management, environmental consultants, and regulatory agencies to support timely permit approvals.
  • Review environmental permit applications, technical reports, environmental assessments, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Evaluate environmental constraints during project planning and development and communicate potential impacts to project leadership.
  • Support environmental requirements for site development, construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Track permit conditions and ensure applicable requirements are incorporated into project plans, construction documents, and field procedures.
  • Assist with evaluating environmental risks associated with project changes, site modifications, and construction sequencing.

Field Environmental Management

  • Conduct and oversee environmental inspections at construction sites and operating facilities to verify compliance with environmental permits and management plans.
  • Evaluate site conditions and construction activities for environmental risks, including stormwater discharges, erosion, sedimentation, spills, and improper waste handling.
  • Oversee implementation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans, and other applicable environmental management plans.

Reporting, Documentation, and Audits

  • Prepare, review, and maintain environmental compliance reports, inspection records, monitoring data, permit documentation, and regulatory submissions.
  • Oversee environmental compliance tracking systems, permit registers, reporting calendars, and corrective action logs.
  • Ensure environmental records are complete, accurate, organized, and available for audits or regulatory review.
  • Analyze environmental inspection findings and compliance trends to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate responses to environmental information requests, agency inquiries, and audit findings.
  • Support the development and maintenance of environmental procedures, plans, and project-specific compliance documentation.

Project Coordination and Technical Guidance

  • Serve as a senior environmental resource to project management, engineering, construction, safety, and operations personnel.
  • Communicate environmental requirements and potential compliance concerns to project stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Provide guidance to Environmental Specialists and other project personnel on inspections, permitting, reporting, and environmental best practices.
  • Coordinate environmental consultants, subcontractors, and external service providers to support project requirements.
  • Participate in project planning meetings, risk reviews, construction readiness reviews, and project status meetings as needed.
  • Recommend improvements to environmental processes, project controls, and compliance practices to support consistent execution across projects.

Environmental Risk Management and Continuous Improvement

  • Identify environmental risks that could affect project cost, schedule, regulatory compliance, or operational readiness.
  • Develop and recommend mitigation strategies to reduce environmental impacts and prevent noncompliance.
  • Support the integration of environmental considerations into project planning, construction execution, and commissioning activities.
  • Evaluate lessons learned and recurring compliance issues to strengthen environmental management practices.
