Job Description:

  • Provides compassionate and attentive care to patients, families, and care providers.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure clear understanding of care plans and procedures.
  • Schedules appointments and coordinates follow-up visits to ensure timely and efficient patient care.
  • Manages patient inquiries and resolves issues promptly and professionally.
  • Educates patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and care strategies.
  • Collaborates with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Monitors patient progress and adjusts care plans as needed.
  • Ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and families.
  • Provides emotional support and reassurance to patients and families during their healthcare journey.
  • Utilizes technology and medical equipment proficiently to enhance patient care.
  • Demonstrates empathy, active listening, and problem-solving skills in all interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in written form in English with patients, staff, and customers of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective, and professional manner. [Required]
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions. [Required]
  • Ability to act in an autonomous, self-directed manner while maintaining the ability to collaborate with other professionals and non-professionals in situations of high complexity and high intensity. [Required]
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing demands [Required]
  • Mature judgement and the ability to handle confidential information within AdventHealth guidelines and applicable regulations [Required]
  • Proficiency using personal computer, word processing and email system. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word [Required]
  • Knowledge of medical terminology [Preferred]
  • Bilingual [Preferred]

Education:

  • Associate [Required]

Field of Study:

  • in Healthcare or related field

Work Experience:

  • 2+ in a complex healthcare setting with primary responsibility of providing customer support to patients in either a scheduling or front desk capacity [Preferred]

Additional Information:

  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:
  • Associate's DegreeOR 2+ years of work experience as outlined above [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Medical Office Assistant (MOA) [Preferred]
