Quality Engineer

We are looking for a Quality Engineer who combines strong technical testing instincts with a genuine curiosity about how software breaks. In this role, you will own the quality signal for your pod - building the systems, tests, and habits that let the team ship fast without shipping broken things, while working as a true peer alongside product engineers and PMs rather than as a downstream QA function.

This is a full-time role based in Sofia. We ask that you join us in the office three times a week, as we value in-person collaboration and see real benefit in the connections it creates.

Some of the things you'll work on:

• Design and maintain automated test coverage across unit, integration, and end-to-end tests as a shared, versioned part of the codebase.
• Build and maintain the tooling that gives the pod fast, reliable feedback, including CI pipelines, test environments, synthetic data, and monitoring hooks.
• Spot gaps in test coverage before they become incidents, and make the case for closing them with evidence.
• Surface risk clearly so the pod can decide with confidence whether to ship, delay, or ship with a flag.
• Bring a user's-eye view into planning conversations, flagging edge cases and failure modes early in design and build.
• Lead root-cause analysis on production issues within the pod's quality domain, with a focus on systemic fixes.
• Track quality trends over time, such as flakiness, escaped defects, and time-to-detect, and feed them into prioritisation discussions.
• Pair with other engineers on testing strategy, helping testing skill spread across the whole pod.
• Build features and fix bugs alongside the rest of the pod.

We're excited if you have:

• Proven experience in a quality or test engineering role on a product engineering team, or equivalent experience as a software engineer with a strong testing focus.
• A track record of building automated test coverage in a real production codebase.
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and test infrastructure, such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
• Experience leading or contributing to root-cause analysis on production incidents.
• Solid coding ability in Python, strong enough to write production code rather than just test scripts.
• Confidence designing test strategy for a feature from scratch, knowing what to automate and what to leave to exploratory testing.
• Working knowledge of testing types relevant to the product, such as API, load/performance, or data pipeline testing.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling, such as Datadog or Grafana, to build signal into dashboards.
