Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Test Automation Engineer to join the Agilent team. This role is responsible for leading the design, development, maintenance, and execution of automated testing solutions for our scientific software products, including ICP Expert and associated platform initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring product quality, improving test efficiency, and supporting on-time software delivery. This position requires strong software development skills, expertise in test automation frameworks, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks and test suites for desktop and enterprise software applications.
• Lead the automation strategy for ICP Expert and related product initiatives.
• Develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable automated tests using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous quality assurance.
• Collaborate closely with Software Development, Product Management, and Quality Engineering teams to define and implement testing strategies.
• Analyze product requirements and technical designs to identify automation opportunities and quality risks.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve automation failures and test infrastructure issues.
• Support release activities by ensuring appropriate automated test coverage and execution.
• Drive continuous improvement in test processes, automation coverage, and quality practices.
• Mentor and support team members in automation best practices and modern testing methodologies.
• Contribute to test planning, estimation, and technical decision-making activities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years proven experience in software testing and test automation.
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as C#, .NET, Python, Java, or similar.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
• Experience with UI, API, integration, and end-to-end test automation.
• Experience with source control systems such as Git.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing desktop applications.
• Experience with scientific, laboratory, analytical, or instrument control software.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of performance, scalability, and reliability testing techniques.
• Experience with enterprise software products and complex system integrations.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted testing and modern software quality practices.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely.Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
