About the Job
We're looking for a hands-on, quality-driven QA Mobile Automation Engineer to join our Product Team in Warsaw.
You'll own test automation for our family of mobile apps, working alongside QA engineers, developers, product managers, designers, and DevOps to keep them reliable as they scale. Our apps run in the field - on construction sites, on real devices, often on bad networks - so this role is as much about designing tests that survive the real world as it is about writing them.
You'll design and implement automated tests, shape our mobile test architecture, integrate quality checks into CI/CD, investigate failures, and decide what testing strategy each part of the product needs.
About AI Clearing
AI Clearing is a technology company transforming how large-scale construction projects are monitored and managed with AI.
Our platform is used on major construction sites around the world, supporting the delivery of solar farms, pipelines, transmission lines, roads, and other complex infrastructure. By combining AI, computer vision, and drone imagery, we turn field data into project intelligence, with millions of construction objects tracked to date. We build a web platform, supported by a family of mobile apps. We hold ISO 42001 (AI management) and ISO 5259-3 (AI data quality) - both world-firsts - alongside ISO 27001, 9001, and 45001.
We're a global, fast-growing team with a flat structure, a strong ownership culture, and plenty of room to make a real impact.
Your Profile
3+ years in software testing, with at least 2 years writing and maintaining test automation yourself
Strong practical Kotlin or Java - enough to design a framework, not only extend one
Hands-on experience building and maintaining Appium test suites (Appium 2.x, UiAutomator2 and/or XCUITest drivers)
Comfortable with the platforms underneath: adb and logcat, emulators and simulators, app installs and permissions, reading a crash log
Solid grasp of test design and test architecture - page objects, reusable fixtures, test data strategy
Experience testing REST APIs, both manually (Postman or similar) and from code
A clear view of where each check belongs across unit, integration, API, and E2E - and why slow, fragile E2E suites are a trap
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and defining quality gates
Eye for UI detail and understanding of mobile UX patterns, design systems, and component libraries (e.g., Figma).
Comfortable with Git and modern development workflows
A structured, analytical approach to flaky tests: reproducing them, isolating the cause, telling a test bug from a product bug
A collaborative mindset and clear communication - you can explain your reasoning to developers, QA engineers, and product people
Professional English - our product, documentation, and US team all run in English
An appetite for learning new testing tools and modern QA practices
Nice to Have
You don't need everything on this list - it's what would help, not a checklist.
Real-device or cloud device farms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Firebase Test Lab)
Native frameworks: Espresso or XCUITest
Charles Proxy or Proxyman - intercepting mobile traffic, throttling, rewriting responses
Testing offline and poor-network behaviour, or other field conditions
Testing map-heavy or image-heavy UIs
Agile ways of working (Scrum or Kanban)
ISTQB certification (Foundation or Advanced)
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
SQL, Docker, or cloud environments
Performance testing or observability tools
Your Role
Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for our Android and iOS apps and the APIs behind them
Build and improve our mobile test automation architecture in Kotlin or Java with Appium
Choose the right level of testing for each product risk, and avoid over-reliance on slow, fragile E2E tests
Run suites on emulators, simulators, and real devices, and keep them fast and stable in CI
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and define quality gates
Analyze results, investigate failures, and eliminate flaky tests
Create reusable test utilities, fixtures, test-data strategies, and shared components
Use device logs, developer tools, and network proxies to investigate UI, API, and connectivity issues
Work with developers to improve testability - accessibility IDs, test hooks, debug builds
Work with developers and product managers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria
Review designs and feature specs early with Designers and PMs to spot UX/UI edge cases, off-line flow risks, and accessibility gaps before development begins.
Ensure UI/UX quality and responsiveness across various mobile screen sizes, verifying implementation against Design System guidelines.
Work with QA engineers to identify which tests are worth automating
Evaluate new testing tools and approaches when they can genuinely improve quality or delivery speed
What We Offer
Real impact and ownership of mobile test automation in products used on live construction projects around the world
The chance to test complex products combining mobile and web apps, maps, geospatial data, drone imagery, APIs, and field workflows
A strong voice in our automation strategy, testing architecture, and quality engineering practices
Close collaboration with QA, engineering, DevOps, product, and design teams
A chance to improve CI/CD quality gates and development workflows
A friendly, cross-functional team that works closely together
Hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote, with flexible hours
Private healthcare, a MultiSport card
A B2B contract with a competitive rate
