Why Aidoptation?
At Aidoptation, we work on the hardest problems in autonomous driving: high-speed, safety-critical scenarios where precision and robustness matter. Our technology is proven at racing speeds and translated into real-world highway autonomy.
Role Description
In this role you will work across the planning-to-control stack for highway autonomy, from trajectory planning through vehicle dynamics and control. You will help design and implement real-time algorithms that keep the vehicle safe, stable, and predictable at high speed and build the interface between planning outputs and vehicle actuators. You will own validation across simulation, SIL/HIL and on-vehicle testing, working closely with planning, perception, localization and systems engineers to close the loop end-to-end. The role includes hands-on vehicle integration, edge-case analysis, and test campaigns, with occasional travel depending on testing needs.
Requirements
Must-Haves
- MSc in Robotics, Computer Science, Control, Mechanical, Automotive or similar
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant industry or research experience
- Experience across motion planning, vehicle dynamics control, stability, control theory, Kalman filtering and MPC control.
- Proficiency in modern C++ and Python, and/or MATLAB/Simulink, with disciplined software engineering and testing practices
- Comfortable in Linux environments and ROS 2 (required)
- Deep understanding of vehicle and tire dynamics.
- Startup mentality: ownership, speed, hands-on and high standards
- Fluent English (Dutch is a plus)
- Applicants must already have the right to work in the EU. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with hard real-time systems
- Experience and exposure to embedded systems software integration
- Experience with scenario-based testing or simulation platforms (SIL and basic HIL) and vehicle testing
- Basic understanding of vehicle dynamics constraints and controller integration
- Familiarity with CAN and automotive interfaces, plus timing and synchronization basics
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR and ISO 26262.
- Interest in high-performance vehicles and limit handling topics
