AIG

American International Group is an insurer founded in Shanghai in 1919 that grew into one of the largest financial institutions in the world before its near-collapse in 2008, when losses on credit default swaps written against mortgage securities forced the largest government rescue of a single company in American history. It has spent the years since dismantling that conglomerate, separating its life and retirement business as Corebridge and selling numerous units, and it now concentrates on commercial property and casualty insurance. Headquartered in New York, it is a considerably smaller and simpler company than the one that failed.

Who we are

AIG is a leading global insurance organization providing a wide range of property casualty insurance and other financial services. We provide world-class products and expertise to businesses and individuals in approximately 190 countries and jurisdictions. At AIG, we’re reshaping how the world manages risk, and we’re inviting you to be a key part of that transformation. As our Project Manager you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, leveraging and further developing your skills to guide groundbreaking AI initiatives. If you’re looking for a place to grow your career and where your contributions will shape the future, AIG is where you belong.

Get to know the business

At AIG, we are making long-term investments in a brand-new, innovative Generative AI team, designed to explore new possibilities for how artificial intelligence can be applied in insurance and beyond, and we need your help. With the support and investment needed to explore new frontiers in generative AI, you’ll be working alongside talented colleagues, innovating and leading projects that will transform how we manage risk and serve our customers. This team is central to our vision of the future and the core of our business offering. We will incorporate best-in-class engineering and product management principles and your guidance and collaboration will be critical to its success. To rapidly advance and innovate, we need your skills and expertise to build worldclass products. If you’re excited by the opportunity to create meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you.

How you will create impact

As a Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in owning end-to-end delivery of AI products from planning through launch. You will drive cross-functional teams to execute against roadmaps, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure features ship on time with the right business outcomes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Develop and maintain execution plans, including timelines, key milestones, and resource capacity management
  • Translate business strategy into executable delivery plans, maintaining a clear line of sight between daily program activity and organisational goals
  • Partner with business leaders, Product Owners, and senior stakeholders to shape priorities, build the business case, and ensure program investment delivers intended returns
  • Manage risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery
  • Proactively identify and resolve delivery blockers, escalating risks and dependencies as needed
  • Monitor progress and performance, providing regular updates to stakeholders and adjusting plans as necessary
  • Identify and engage with all relevant stakeholders, including teams, executives, and business users
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Ensure consistent delivery cadence across teams, aligned to program milestones and executive commitments
  • Identify and implement process improvements that accelerate delivery and increase team effectiveness
  • Define and track business KPIs and OKRs to measure program impact and drive continuous improvement
  • Foster a positive team environment that promotes productivity, creativity, and high performance

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in business program or project management
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field
  • PMP required; additional business or change management certification preferred
  • Proven experience as a Business Program Manager, Product Manager, or senior project lead delivering business transformation or capability programs
  • Demonstrated commercial awareness and ability to connect delivery decisions to business value and financial outcomes
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks; able to flex methodology to suit program context
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, influence, and motivate teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously and navigate complex stakeholder environments
  • Comfortable with planning and collaboration tools; able to adapt tooling to program needs
