AIG

American International Group is an insurer founded in Shanghai in 1919 that grew into one of the largest financial institutions in the world before its near-collapse in 2008, when losses on credit default swaps written against mortgage securities forced the largest government rescue of a single company in American history. It has spent the years since dismantling that conglomerate, separating its life and retirement business as Corebridge and selling numerous units, and it now concentrates on commercial property and casualty insurance. Headquartered in New York, it is a considerably smaller and simpler company than the one that failed.

At AIG, we are reimagining the way we help customers manage risk. Join us as a Third-Party Risk Remediation Specialist, Core+ and help strengthen service provider management, operational resilience and regulatory compliance across AIG Pacific.

Make your mark in Enterprise Risk Management

As well as helping customers to manage risks, AIG faces a wide array of our own risks every day. The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team partners across the AIG organization to inform strategic decision-making and to facilitate rational risk-taking that drives profitable growth. ERM ensures we have the right tools, processes and systems in place to identify, measure and manage our risks. As an ERM colleague, you can enhance your acumen by helping to shape and support our approach to risk.

How you will create an impact

You will support AIG Pacific’s Service Provider Management Remediation Program by coordinating and driving remediation activities across third-party service provider and outsourcing arrangements. Working with Contract Owners, Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, APAC / Global TPRM and business stakeholders, you will help improve ownership, data quality, monitoring and evidence of compliance with AIG framework requirements, APRA CPS 230 and relevant RBNZ expectations.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential for extension, subject to business requirements.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Support delivery of the 12-month Service Provider Management Remediation Program across material service provider and outsourcing arrangements.

  • Coordinate remediation activities including the service provider management platform (CBRA) uplift, service provider population review, materiality assessments, tiering, policy alignment, RACI embedment and reporting uplift.

  • Work with Contract Owners and Business Owners to validate records, close data gaps and maintain an accurate Material Service Provider Register.

  • Coordinate and facilitate CBRA activities and risk assessments undertaken by business stakeholders, including refreshes, material change triggers, contract renewals and service or data location changes.

  • Support contract, monitoring and evidence uplift against AIG policy and regulatory expectations, working with Legal, Risk and business stakeholders.

  • Prepare governance inputs, action tracking, issue escalation, remediation reporting and key risk themes for management, committees and Board reporting.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across multiple stakeholders to drive timely completion of remediation activities and escalation of overdue actions.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Experience in third-party risk, service provider management, operational risk, compliance, audit, vendor governance, procurement risk or regulatory remediation.

  • Working knowledge of APRA CPS 230, CPS 220, CPS 234, FAR, outsourcing obligations or equivalent prudential risk practices is highly desirable.

  • Strong remediation delivery skills, including action tracking, evidence management, risk assessments, control reviews and governance reporting.

  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, stakeholders and competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to work confidently with business owners, Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, Operations and regional or global risk teams to resolve issues and deliver outcomes.

  • Clear written communication and analytical skills, with the ability to translate remediation progress into concise management reporting.

Applicants must have valid rights to work in Australia, as employer sponsorship is not available for this position.
