The Opportunity

Join the elite team at Airbus Space Navigation and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of global satellite navigation. We are seeking a skilled On Site Galileo 2nd Generation Navigation Signal Engineer to join our Customer Integrated Team at the ESTEC premises. As part of our expert team, you will contribute directly to the implementation and verification of the next generation of Galileo navigation signals, working alongside industry leaders with over 25 years of experience in Galileo systems.

Your Role

As a key contributor to the Galileo 2nd Generation (G2G) System team, you will ensure the flawless performance of the navigation signal-in-space. Your responsibilities will include:

• System Design & Analysis: Supporting Galileo system design evolutions regarding navigation signals and receiver aspects; analysing mission requirements and flowing them down to system and sub-system specifications.
• Tooling & Simulation: Defining, implementing, and maintaining signal performance analysis tools; performing simulations and trade-off analyses on signal generation, propagation, distortions, and navigation message dissemination.
• Performance Optimization: Conducting deep-dive analyses on receiver acquisition, tracking, PVT processing, signal/data authentication, and system integrity.
• Verification & Testing: Planning and conducting laboratory experiments and on-field verification test campaigns to evaluate measurement data and support trade-off analyses.
• Implementation Oversight: Monitoring the correct implementation of Signal-In-Space (SIS) requirements across satellite, ground, and user segments.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Presenting and discussing technical results with national and international customers and partners.

Your Profile

We are looking for an engineer with a passion for precision and a rigorous technical background.

• Education: Master’s degree in Navigation, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in space projects, ideally with Galileo or other GNSS systems.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of GNSS signal analysis, digital signal processing (CDMA), modulation, and navigation receiver algorithms.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Matlab, Python, and/or C/C++.
• Soft Skills: Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work autonomously within a diverse, international team.
• Requirement: Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Personal Security Clearance.
