Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Production Manager to join our Production team in Portsmouth.
As a key member of the management team, you will lead, develop, and engage a production team to deliver high-reliability products by optimising, resource planning and interfacing directly with the shop floor, you will ensure our products are delivered on time, on quality, and on cost within a safe and healthy environment.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEA M
- Manage, lead, and engage a production team to meet stringent time, quality, cost, and safety requirements.
- Execute Management Resource Planning (balancing manpower and machines) to optimise facility and resource availability on the shop floor.
- Define and update the global production planning, ensuring successful delivery of multiple projects running in parallel according to given priorities.
- Interface closely with the shop floor to ensure effective communication, seamless execution, and alignment with the overall production plan.
- Manage allocated work packages and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the production environment.
- Ensure all manufacturing outputs are delivered in a safe, healthy environment, respecting all health, safety, and legal regulations.
ABOUT YOU
- Experience of leading production and optimising resource planning (manpower and machines) within a high-reliability manufacturing environment.
- Experience of project planning, P6 scheduling, and defining global production plans across multiple parallel projects.
- Experience of work package management, team leadership, and driving continuous improvement on the shop floor.
- Experience of utilising manufacturing systems (knowledge of SAP Manufacturing Execution Systems is advantageous).
