What will you be doing?

In this role, you will design the complete electrical power systems on board vessels-covering power generation, storage, and distribution. Sustainability and innovation play a key role, with hybrid systems often part of the solution. You’ll collaborate closely with the Technical Project Manager, who holds final responsibility for the design.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing systems based on client requirements and maritime regulations

  • Delivering technical solutions within the agreed budget and timeline

  • Identifying deviations within the project scope and taking proactive action

  • Reporting progress and ensuring clear communication throughout the project

You'll work on projects that truly matter in a dynamic and forward-thinking sector.

What do we offer you?

At Alewijnse, you’ll be part of pioneering maritime projects where technology, sustainability, and growth go hand in hand. You’ll have the space to develop yourself, take initiative, and work within a committed team.

Here’s what you’ll get:

  • A gross monthly salary between €4,000 and €5,500 (full-time)

  • Additional pay for overtime hours

  • 25 holiday days and 13 ADV days

  • Pension scheme via PMT

  • Tailored training and development opportunities

  • Employment terms in line with the Dutch CAO Metal & Engineering

And there’s more:

With WeConnect, you stay connected with colleagues. Think: sports activities, a staff association, a company webshop and many other perks.

Who are you?

You have experience as a hardware engineer and feel at home in complex electrical engineering projects. You look beyond your own field and contribute actively to finding the best overall system solution. You’re both a strong team player and comfortable taking ownership independently.

You bring:

  • A bachelor's degree (HBO) in Electrical Engineering

  • Several years of experience in a similar role

  • Knowledge of shipboard systems and maritime electrical engineering

  • Strong analytical skills and a structured way of working

Requirements

Are you analytically strong, knowledgeable about power systems, and eager to contribute to electrical designs for superyachts, naval vessels, or dredgers? As a Hardware Engineer Power at Alewijnse, you'll work within a team on sustainable energy solutions for some of the world’s most advanced maritime projects.
