The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications, APIs, and event-driven microservices that power Allegion’s connected access solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of 12,000+ employees and 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin, and LCN), building solutions that enable seamless access and help keep people safe and secure where they work, live, and thrive.

What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, design, and implement high-quality software solutions
- Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications, APIs, and event-driven microservices
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that follows best practices and coding standards
- Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency
- Develop detailed solution specifications, including estimated time and scope, for stakeholders
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and other Allegion business units
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and apply them to improve our applications
- Mentor and guide junior-level engineers
What You Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience (Required)
- 5+ years of relevant software development experience (Required)
- Fluency in a strongly typed language; C# / .NET Core preferred (Required)
- Proficiency with code management tools such as Git and GitHub (Required)
- Experience with event-driven, serverless, and microservice architectures (Required)
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery (Required)
- Experience building solutions in the cloud; Azure preferred (Required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work well with remote teams (Required)
- Working knowledge of Azure services such as Azure Functions, App Service, Storage, Key Vault, Cosmos DB, and API gateway/Front Door (Preferred)
- Experience containerizing applications and running them on Kubernetes (Preferred)
- Understanding of API and platform security, including authentication/authorization, certificate management, and management of cryptographic keys and secrets (Preferred)
- Experience with IoT web applications and working with firmware and systems engineering teams (Preferred)
- Customer-first, adaptable team player with an eagerness to learn new technologies (Preferred)

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
- The expected Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $171,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
