Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to support an Agile Data & Business Intelligence team delivering enterprise dashboards, reporting solutions and data products.
The Scrum Master will be responsible for enabling effective Agile delivery, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, and continuously improving the team’s ways of working.
The role will work closely with the Product Owner, Data/ETL Developers, Architects, BI Developers, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate core Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.
- Partner with the Product Owner to ensure the product backlog is refined, prioritized and ready for delivery.
- Support sprint planning through capacity planning, dependency identification, and estimation.
- Track sprint progress, velocity, risks, dependencies and impediments using Jira and Confluence.
- Proactively identify and remove blockers that may impact delivery.
- Coordinate dependencies across data, ETL, architecture, BI development and BAU’s.
- Facilitate retrospectives and ensure agreed improvement actions are followed through.
- Monitor delivery metrics such as velocity, sprint predictability, throughput, backlog health, and delivery risks.
- Support the team in improving estimation and breaking down larger requirements into manageable user stories and tasks.
- Encourage effective collaboration between the Product Owner, technical team, and stakeholders.
- Identify delivery risks early and ensure appropriate escalation and resolution.
- Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile/Scrum practices.
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile delivery environments.
- Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile principles.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Experience working with cross-functional technology teams.
- Strong understanding of backlog management, story refinement, estimation, sprint planning, and dependency management.
- Experience within Data, Business Intelligence, Analytics is good to have.
- Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder-management, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to proactively identify delivery risks and drive issues to resolution.
- PSM, CSM or equivalent Scrum Master certification would be desirable.
